What is Mold?
Molds are vital to the natural environment and part of the kingdom known as Fungi. Molds decompose dead organic matter in the environment, but can also destroy property and pose serious health risks for some individuals. They are found almost anywhere, indoors and outdoors.
Molds reproduce by releasing spores. Mold spores are microscopic organisms, which float through outdoor and indoor air, attaching themselves onto moisture rich surfaces. As long as moisture is present, mold will continue to reproduce and spread rapidly. Suprisingly enough, mold can begin growing and spreading in less than 48 hours.
